I'm thinking that a convertor (like my 8" A-1 unit), or perhaps a 9-10" (if you want to keep it street legal, would be a start. Secondly, I'd look at your engine, for a camshaft upgrade, cylinder head mod's (like a three angle valve job), a cold air intake system, and headers would get you close. Additionally, changing your computer to one of the programable aftermarket types that you could tune with a laptop computer could change your air/fuel/timing set-up to really make your car a screamer! Top that off by getting some light weight aluminum wheels (such as the Cragars that I have on my front end 14-8" 's), and some MT drag slicks (perhaps the 24.5X8X14's), and I think you'd be right there...even at Bandimere's! You could also add some higher flowing fuel injectors and that would make your car a screamer for sure!!!
My car has the convertor (8" 3600 stahl speed), a mild cam, and an un-maxed out Accel Calmap computer system. It also runs on 20X8X14 MT slicks, has the MAP Sensor gutted out, with a high-flow air filter on it, and my best Bandimere e.t. was a 16.38 (on the brakes) in October. With headers, a higher duration camshaft, and bigger slicks (to go with a performance tune adjustment from my calmap computer), I feel that even at Bandimere I'd be close to (if not in the high 13's)...I'd definitely be running the high 13's here in Phoenix, because my 12yr old mild cammed Stocker motor ran a 15.24 at this years C.S.K. Nationals...and that's with factory cast iron exhaust manifolds, my factory fuel injectors, a non-max'ed out calmap, and a mild cam!
Your car isn't that much heavier than mine, and I believe that once I get the funds to let Verle Stevens freshen up my engine, get the headers, and adjust the calmap (by a pro instead of me l.o.l.), I'll be so fast that I'll have to be reclassified to run either CF/S (15.45 index at sea level), or the faster BF/S class (14.95 index), because my current 15.90 index will be obliterated by at least 1.5sec!!! Your car can do it too!
I'll keep you posted ok? Have a good evening, and thanks for adding me to your friends list Jene! :)

Heh, congrats on your success in your Corsica too!!! I wish you'd build that car into a Stocker??? You could do great with it up there (and out here too), and I'd be your biggest fan west of Colorado! Thanks again, and take care up there! :)
