RACE CLASSES

All classes featured in 1320X events are designed to attract American made vehicles that are built to compete in the true spirit of a “Street Car.”  In addition to the “anything goes” Grudge and Open Comp categories used for filming short single race matches (to be edited for the internet), 1320X will have two “Heads Up” racing classes designed to showcase the maximum performance potential of the American made muscle car.

Open Comp - Entry-level race class designed for any American made car.  A Test-n-Tune class designed to accommodate everyone. One of the overall goals for these events is to be completely interactive with the crowd and sponsors. Each spectator will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite cars to win prizes and a chance to compete in a “shootout” at the end of the day.  There will be a class for favorite Ford, favorite Chevy, favorite BOP (Buick/Olds/Pontiac), and favorite Mopar.  Spectators cast their votes for each category at strategically located voting booths throughout the manufacturer’s midway.  The top four cars from each brand will be selected and announced live.  All 16 cars compete to defend their brand in a single-elimination – bracket- tournament. One brand and one racer is left standing to receive the coveted “Manufacturer’s Cup.”

The Grudge Category - Open to any American made car. No rules or limitations put on the vehicles other than standard safety requirements. Racers who have a grudge to settle with an opponent can setup races against each other via the web forum on 1320x.com.  Contestants will apply online to race each other and the 1320x staff will then select ten matches for each event to run during the day.  These individual matches will be recorded and placed on 1320x.com’s video portal for viewing within 24 hours of the race. The winner of each grudge race will be awarded a 1320x “Grudge Winner” window cling to display with pride.

Outlaw Drag Radial -  Entry-level heads up class (pro qualifying ladder, 16 car field) allows unlimited power train modifications.  The limiting factor for this class will be the requirement to run a specific Drag Radial type tire.  All cars must use factory-style suspension combinations, and the rear frame rails of the vehicle must remain intact.  This class will be full of seven-second cars, which will make for exciting races. Weight requirements will be made based on engine configuration and power adder type.

Outlaw 10.5 -  Is the fastest and most revered class (pro qualifying ladder, 16 car field) of 1320X having many six-second cars.  Power train modification is unlimited in this class and the suspension modification is unlimited from the front firewall back.  All cars must retain the stock type front suspension and are limited to a 10.5W tire. Weight requirements will be made based on engine configuration and power adder type.

RULES

All vehicles competing in 1320X events must pass each location’s tech inspection.  At NHRA tracks NHRA rules apply.  At IHRA tracks IHRA rules apply.  All rules subject to change at the sole discretion of 1320X.  Outlaw 10.5, Outlaw Drag Radial, and the Grudge Category will be started using a .400 Pro Tree.  Open Comp will compete on a .500 Sportsman Tree.  Outlaw 10.5 and Outlaw Drag Radial are 16-car qualified fields using a Pro-Ladder.
