1320X - Grassroots Drag Racing

Hey whats up? just wanted to say hi to all. My name is Mike Ramirez and I just joined 1320X community. I hope I can meet more fellow racers and nova fans from my home town of sunnyvale, ca as well as were my family is currently living in queen creek, arizona. I moved back to sunnyvale in october of '08 to take care of my parents. My mom has breast cancer and my dad had a stroke which left him paralyzed on his right side and is in a wheelchair and cannot speak. I quit my job as a service technician at a chevy dealer to care for them full time. This gives me alot of time in front of the computer!!! In the mean time I'm trying to pick up some work either tuning or doing performance upgrades.

Anyways that's all for now, come check out www.norcal1320.com to see what bay area drag racing is all about. We're trying to get a drag strip in Alameda at the old naval base.

Thanks for all the replys guys. It means alot. Its not an easy thing caring for your parents in this condition. Its like caring for children. They've been taking care of me for the last 42 years this is the least I can do to pay them back. My mom is on the mend though, her doctors say the cancer is about 99% gone! She has lost weight, is weak still, but her hair is growing back!. Alittle day by day she does her excersizes to build her strength. Her appetite is still weak but it's coming back slowly. My dad is not gonna get any better. He's been in the condition he's in since 1995. I have noticed he's having a difficult time getting out of bed in the morning, and needing more assistance in the bathroom. The doctor told me he's low in Potassium so I've been feeding him foods rich in Potassium and giving him potassium supplements but I don't know it may just be a result of his age and sedentary lifestyle. I don't mean to bring anybody down reading this, but in a way it's cathartic. My wife called me this morning to tell me my cat, Sampson died in her arms from a heart attack. He was about 10 years old. I got him from a breeder but it wasn't what you call a nurturing environment. It turned out he had asthma, and as a result he had a weakened heart. The vet said he wouldn't last 5 years but he made it 10. The move to Arizona was a blessing for him. His lungs were clear and unrestricted, he lost weight and began to run around like the kitten he never was. It was great to see him so active, with bright blue eyes and good overall color in his nose and gums. I'm gonna miss him. He was a good cat. I'll get some pics later. Please tell me this is all temporary and it will get better soon!!!!
