Tuff 73

All Performance Challenge- Heathcote Park Nov 14th 2009

Hello All,

I know its been awhile since I have been on 1320x- had to upgrade my computer and I have had alot of viruses too! And life has been very busy as well!

Its now the day after race day and what a day it was!

temperature got to 40 degrees celsius by late afternoon- but the meeting went on and I'm happy to say that Tuff 73 and I came runner up in our bracket ( 10 -11:99 secs).

I ran in the 10.50's and 10.60's all day- track was there, then it was'nt, heat was getting hotter- the weather station was telling us the air was'nt good- but by 6pm we has a nice breeze with a hint of cool in it to lift our spirits.

Turn out was lower than usual, about 50 cars in the end after breakages, heat etc and about 10 bikes, I think the 39 degree celsius forecast kept some racers at home.

Tuff ran well even though it was hot and she was getting hotter than normal!

First eliminator- raced a slower car- Caught him by half track and backed off a little - we took the win.

Second Eliminator- a little dragster- he dialled in 10.62- I dialled in 10.64- I reacted .49 to his .51 and got over the line first!

Third Eliminator- Semi Final-Green XW Falcon- Lined up against this car- he launched- red lit- lucky for me cos I got a cramp in my right leg after the launch and was screaming down the track to get rid of it! LOL. It was the most painful run of my life!!!!!

Final- Tuff and I race a beautiful orange Holden eh ute- dialled in 11.90 to my 10.55- He reacted well and got away clean on his light, I launched but got half track and felt tuff was moving in a way that I did'nt want to go, I think we hit something ( fluid of some sort) and I was drifting off the race line, so I got off it before there was any trouble- Tuff 73 never acts like that unless I run over oil or something like that, so I bugged out and kept us in one piece.

I did'nt care- I'd had a great day racing with my mates and was happy to make it to finals - even though it was terribly hot!

Cheers,
Leanne

Hiya Camo, thanks for the comment! Tuff ran around 190 to 200 by end track, but with the Thermos on, she only cooled to around 180 and I did'nt have enough time to cool past 180 in between semi finals and final run! I felt bad running her back to back like that- but she's a tuff chick and she kept up her pace as best she could- what a car! Lucky the heat we had was a dry heat- not humid at all!
When are you racing next camo??
