I went to Cecil County Dragway in Rising Sun, Maryland to see the National Dragster Challenge on a recent Sunday afternoon. The dragway had its first race there in April of 1963. Cecil County Dragway is located on 100 acres just off I-95 in Northeast, Maryland and has a well maintained quarter mile asphalt racing surface with an additional ½ mile shut-down area.
On one side of the dragway there is room for 350 vehicles in an asphalt pit area and on the other side are 45 acres of grassy area for an additional 350 vehicles. The bleachers will hold 4000 spectators.
