Big Slot Car Drag Race coming up at Fas Trax of MD

Saturday they will be running Nostalgia Pro Stock for the first time, then a big Bracket race, then MM/PS and SS/AH. National Dragster Challenge at Cecil County Dragway on Oct 5th, 2008

I went to Cecil County Dragway in Rising Sun, Maryland to see the National Dragster Challenge on a recent Sunday afternoon. The dragway had its first race there in April of 1963. Cecil County Dragway is located on 100 acres just off I-95 in Northeast, Maryland and has a well maintained quarter mile asphalt racing surface with an additional ½ mile shut-down area. Virginia NHRA Nationals at Virgina Motorsports Park

I went to the Virginia NHRA Nationals at Virgina Motorsports Park in Petersburg, Virginia for Friday qualifying. In the second round of qualifying the conditions were OPTIMAL! The temperature, air density, and humidity were excellent for all of the top fuel, pro stock and pro-mods. The Pro Stock cars went first… just as the evening air was getting cooler. Carolina Nationals @ Zmax Dragway

I was at the NHRA Carolina Nationals Sept. 11- 14 at the new Zmax Dragway across from Lowes Motor Speedway. We camped out at the Fleetwood RV Resort which was about 200 feet from the dragway entrance. It was awesome to see all the NHRA drivers and smell burning rubber, nitro and alcohol for 3 whole days. I bought my Chevelle drag car cheap!

In 1990 I went to go see a 1969 Chevelle Malibu Super Sport that my friend Greg wanted to buy. The man who selling it had purchased it for his 16 year old son for $3800 the year before. The car had a candy apple blue metallic paint job and it couldn’t have been more than a couple of years since it had been restored. The body of the car was a mess.
