Thanks Rick, never used N2O in a drag race. this gives me a good idea what N2O actually does, in your case .50. looks like you got your car dialed in for both.

I belive Nitrous is used a lot in heads up racing, and grude racing. (Quick 8, Top Sportsman, Top Dragster, 10.5 classes ECT) But the everyday BRACKET racer probably has it but doesn't use it unless he/she really wants to take the strip.
I know of several Top Sportsman car (using singal stage systems) that will run say 7.20 without the bottle and 6.70 or so with it. Some will even Qualify with N2O and then run elimanations without it.
Its is instance power thats for sure.
I guess the days of all thortle and no bottle are over. LOL
Now its all bottle or nothing :)

Just my 2 cents

it's true Calvin, but their comes a certian pride that comes from running quick without the bottle, it has been shown that many n20 cars run very quick without it, and run much quicker with it!! i race both 3 amber and pro tree and have put away n2o cars, sometimes i push them out the door or they sand bag and let off at the end. i'll do the best i can. my car fits right in a heads up 10.60 class, all i need is a good light. soon my car will be running 10.40's off the bottle.i don't think an all steel car with hubcaps running those numbers is obsolete, nor the "pro stockers" from days of yore. and yes your right i do have a bottle in my garage for a grudge race, but would i run the same number all day long? would consistency be thrown out the window? a "flash in the pan"? lets see how Smitty does against CAMOMAN this Sept. thanks for your thoughts, i respect them, just as i have respect for the bottle car in the lane next to me. jim

hey Jimmy, those are 1/4 mile times. at Calif. speedway, high desrt, 2,000" my best is a 10.78@123mph, the mph is a bit low but i think i can only change that wiith a cam. gonna start racing at Bakersfield, (sea level) and hopefully pick up two tenths. just made an airpan and installed an electric water pump drive. hope to see 10.50's. car hooks on a 9" slick. 1/8 th mile is 6.82 @ 100.05 mph.
