Scott and Scotty Cannon to Join Benny Alfonso Racing in 2009

March 19th. Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod Member Benny Alfonso, based in Long Island NY, and owner of the MODZilla/ MBRC Pro Modified Racing Team, confirmed today that he has retained the services of father-son team Scotty and Scott Cannon to tune for his Pro Mod operation. Also joining the team will be painter extraordinaire Barney Squires as a fill-in driver.

The two car team will feature Benny Alfonso’s newly repainted Modzilla nitrous-injected 1957 Chevy, which will be driven by Nick Montana, and now a supercharged 1968 Pontiac Firebird being built by Montana Brothers which will be driven by Benny Alfonso. Scott will also race the 1968 Firebird he campaigned last year in the IHRA events at the Inaugural Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod event at Virginia Motorsports Park, April 18th, 2009.

The father and son tuning combination will look to send Alfonso quicker down the strip than he’s ever been before.

Right now the plan is to race the team close to Alfonso’s Islip, N.Y. hometown. Look for all of the teams cars at the Inaugural Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod event at Virginia Motorsports Park, April 18th, 2009.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Hope House Ministries is proud to announce their involvement with the Northeast Outlaw Pro-Mod Association for 2009.

March 3rd, 2009 Port Jefferson, NY – Hope House Ministries is pleased to announce its partnership with the Northeast Outlaw Pro-Mod Association (NEOPM) for 2009.

“We are excited to be teaming with the Northeast Outlaw Pro-Mod Association, said Fr. Francis Pizzarelli, Founder/Executive Director of the Hope House Ministries. “We can’t wait for the 2009 racing season to get started and look forward to working with the local drivers and teams!”

The Association’s involvement in Hope House Ministries is to offer the young men there a chance to experience the excitement of drag racing in a unique way, one that they may not have otherwise experienced. The team’s invitation to allow hands on involvement at any given race will give them the ability to learn new skills while sharing in the excitement of each round of racing. It will also allow them to share in the camaraderie and sportsmanship of the group.

The greatest part of each team’s involvement is the giving back of this sport that we are just so blessed to be a part of. For the team members it’s a gesture of giving and a feeling of gratitude that enhances the efforts of the Association’s place in the sport of drag racing.

Hope House Ministries are grateful for this opportunity and look forward to the positive impact on these young men who are looking forward to start of this season.
